There is a direct relationship between exercise and erectile dysfunction whereby regular exercise reduces the chances of erectile dysfunction. An increase in exercise and weightloss among men reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction by 70%. Furthermore, the main cause of erectile dysfunction is poor lifestyle decisions.


LINKS BETWEEN EXERCISE AND ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION
The chances of erectile dysfunction increase as men age. It is experienced by 50%-55% of men between 40 and 70 years old. The condition is associated with obesity. As such, engaging in regular exercise and losing excess weight significantly reduces the risk of erectile dysfunction by 70%.


According to NHS, physical factors like lifestyle factors cause erectile dysfunction among 90% of men and weight loss reduces the risk of impotence by 70%. Additionally, pelvic floor exercises can help to reduce the symptoms of erectile dysfunction. This is because erectile dysfunction and urinary inconsistency are caused by weak pelvic floor muscles. As such, strengthening the pelvic floor muscles improves erectile function.


In another study, the use of an exercise program known as conservative management, helps men to maintain their level of sexual activity compared to those who did not enter exercise programs. Erectile dysfunction is also closely linked to lack of physical activities, regardless of the diabetes status of the individual.


A combination of short-term and long-term interventions of exercise and physical activities help to improve the condition for people with erectile dysfunction. Among males with the condition, there was a 3.85-point improvement in erectile function when they engaged in physical activity; this is from a score of 2.33 to 2.37.
