Relief Donations

  • On March 19th, 2020, Round Up to Zero announced that it would open up its platform to help organizations drive donations to the global fight against COVID-19. Additionally, it will donate a portion of its proceeds to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, organized by the World Health Organization.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Citi announced a $15 million donation to support COVID-19 funds. The donation will be split three ways between different global causes: $5 million to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, $5 million to No Kid Hungry and $5 million will be directed to additional international, country-specific efforts in places that are severely impacted.
  • On March 18th, 2020, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation announced in a news release that they would give $25 million to help support the fight against COVID-19. $5 million will support global efforts to prevent, detect and manage the coronavirus, while $10 million will support organizations that provide access to food for under-served populations. Additionally, $10 million will support efforts in local communities.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, BlackRock pledged $50 million to assist people experiencing financial hardship as a result of the global spread of coronavirus. Blackrock indicated that it had already made the first tranche of $18 million available to community organizations such as food banks in the US and Europe, in addition to donations earlier made in Asia.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, TikTok announced a $10 million donation to the World Health Organization’s Solidarity Response Fund. This fund helps the WHO provide assistance to front line health care workers around the world, which includes sending supplies to them.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, Amgen announced its plans to donate up to $12.5 million to support U.S. and global relief efforts to address critical needs in communities impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Besides, the Amgen Foundation will match contributions made by Amgen staff around the world who wish to donate towards relief efforts.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, Ndemic Creations announced a $250,000 donation on behalf of its Plague Inc. players that would be split between the Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Spotify launched the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief Project, which will connect verified organizations that are offering financial relief to members of the global music community who are in need. In addition, Spotify added a public donation feature to its website and a feature that allows artists to seek donations directly from their fans via their Spotify profile pages. Also, Spotify has included a COVID-19 news and information hub in its app to help keep listeners informed.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Bausch Health Companies announced that it had set up several initiatives towards the fight against COVID-19. The company is actively donating medicines and health care products, furthermore, Bausch is pursuing research to determine whether its products offer valuable treatment options.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Velocity Global announced it would donate 1% of its 2020 global profits to non-profit organizations around the world responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, Velocity Global will apply its contribution as a match to employee donations.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Nasdaq announced a donation of $6 million cash and in-kind to COVID-19 relief organizations and business partners. The cash donation of $5 million will support relief organizations that include Opportunity Fund’s Small Business Relief Fund, the World Central Kitchen’s #ChefsForAmerica and WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The balance of $1 million will be in the form of advertising time: the Nasdaq MarketSite Tower in Times Square will feature public service address messages related to COVID-19 such as social distancing and other efforts to flatten the curve.
  • On March 26th, 2020, Ralph Lauren announced a donation of $10 million through the Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation to support its employees and communities around the world that have been affected by the pandemic. Funds will be distributed to several organizations including the Emergency Assistance Foundation, WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and the CFDA/Vogue's newly setup COVID-19 relief initiative: A Common Thread.
  • On March 26th, 2020, Twitch announced its plans to host a charity benefit on March 28, 2020, called Stream Aid 2020 that will feature celebrity guests, music, and gaming to benefit the WHO's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Artists who will perform at the virtual concert include John Legend, Charlie Puth, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, and Jordin Sparks.
  • On March 27th, 2020, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative announced a $25 million contribution to an accelerator run by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that is developing therapies and medicine to treat COVID-19. The objective is to develop reasonably priced COVID-19 treatments that can be distributed at scale.
  • On March 27th, 2020, ADM Company announced its commitment of $1 million to several organizations involved in the COVID-19 response. These include commitments to WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and many COVID-19 focused regional and local charities in the areas where ADM operates. Also, ADM will match employee contributions to COVID-19 relief and mitigation.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Bacardi Limited announced a $3 million donation to worldwide organizations that support hospitality workers during the coronavirus pandemic. This is in addition to the $1 million that the brand’s Patron tequila pledged last week.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Warner Music Group announced that it had donated to Heart to Heart International and MusiCares COVID-19 relief fund to support COVID-19 relief efforts in badly affected areas.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Johnson & Johnson announced a $50 million commitment to support frontline health workers battling COVID-19. This commitment is in addition to the $250 million made in January 2020 toward the Johnson & Johnson Center for Health Worker Innovation, which is focused on motivating, hiring, training, retaining and mobilizing frontline health workers.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Novartis announced a $1 million donation to support Khan Academy, a non-profit organization that offers free virtual learning resources to students as well as parents and teachers. This contribution will support Khan Academy’s response to the current heightened demand for virtual learning in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • On March 31st, 2020, the Tetra Laval Group announced a €10 million donation towards different voluntary organizations that support health care systems in the countries that the group operates in.
  • On April 2nd, 2020, Samsung Electronics announced that it had donated $29 million in cash and goods to government and communities that have been most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, Samsung donated face masks and air purifiers to hospitals as well as smartphones to patients in quarantine. It has also provided tablets to educational institutions for use by children because of school closures.
  • On April 1st, 2020, Caterpillar Foundation announced a donation of $8.5 million towards the fight against COVID-19. This donation is towards providing resources to hospitals, healthcare workers and patients, addressing food insecurity, and enabling online STEM and coding education for students. This donation will be distributed across different organizations and COVID-19 funds around the world, including WHO's Solidarity Response Fund, Feeding America Response Fund, and the King Baudouin Foundation Fund.
  • On April 1st, 2020, Cognizant Philanthropies announced a $10 million commitment to help communities around the world respond to COVID-19 in the short and long-term. Cognizant Foundations based in the U.S. and India will provide the resources needed to strengthen public health systems, education and workforce institutions, and the economic outlook of communities.
  • On April 2nd, 2020, KontrolFreek announced that it would donate up to 100% of the revenue generated on its website on April 3, 2020, to organizations actively involved in global COVID-19 relief efforts. People around the world can be part of the company's response by purchasing on its website on April 3, 2020.
  • On April 3rd, 2020, the Starbucks Foundation announced a donation of more than $3 million to support community response efforts across the world. Part of the donation will bolster current global relief efforts through Give2Asia and WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Also, part of the donation will go towards local non-profit organizations that are working in vulnerable communities in the USA and Canada.
  • On April 3rd, 2020, Tencent Holdings announced a $10 million donation to WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Also, the company agreed to open source its digital health solutions to support the global fight against the pandemic.
  • On April 3rd, 2020, Nike announced an additional $1.6 million donation to help local non-profit organizations meet their immediate needs such as food assistance and medical care. With this additional donation, Nike and its leaders have donated more than $17 million to COVID-19 response and relief efforts around the world.
  • On April 3rd, 2020, PepsiCo revealed a $45 million support package to provide relief in communities around the world. The funds will be used towards the distribution of essentials such as food, personal protective equipment and health transportation to the most vulnerable groups in society especially children and seniors. $7.7 million out of this support package will be donated to European countries including the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany.
  • On April 6th, 2020, Kimberly-Clark announced a series of cash and in-kind donations through the Kimberly-Clark Foundation to support COVID-19 relief efforts around the world. The company has committed $8 million to aid COVID-19 response and recovery efforts around the world and has donated $2.5 million to UNICEF and $2.5 million to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the American Red Cross.
  • On April 7th, 2020, Visa Foundation announced a commitment of two programs totaling $210 million to support non-profit organizations and small and micro-businesses around the world. The first program is valued at $10 million and designated to provide immediate emergency relief to non-profit organizations on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response. The second program, valued at $200 million is a five-year commitment to support small and micro-businesses around the world with a focus on encouraging women’s economic advancement.
  • On April 7th, 2020, Vertex Pharmaceuticals announced that its charitable organization, Vertex Foundation, had committed to a $5 million donation to support non-profit organizations that are providing COVID-19 relief around the world. This commitment includes doubling its match for employees’ charitable donations to eligible non-profit organizations responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On April 8th, 2020, Heineken announced a series of initiatives it had taken to provide COVID-19 support and a donation to the Red Cross to support the most vulnerable people. At the community level, Heineken is deploying several local initiatives across its global operations to support frontline COVID-19 workers. Also, Heineken will donate €15 million to support relief efforts of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for the most vulnerable people affected by COVID-19, especially in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
  • On April 9th, 2020, Lam Research announced its commitment of $25 million towards global COVID-19 relief and recovery efforts. The funds will be used to provide immediate community aid, including medical supplies, longer-term recovery for communities, and relief funds to employees. Also, Lam Research established a 2-for-1 donation matching campaign for employee donations to eligible COVID-19 relief programs.
  • On April 8th, 2020, Toms announced it would donate one-third of its net profits to support people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will go to the Toms COVID-19 Global Giving Fund, which currently supports Americares, International Medical Corps, Partners in Health, WaterAid and The Mix.

Donation of Supplies, Products & Services

  • On March 19th, 2020, gaming hardware manufacturer Razer announced that it would provide up to 1 million surgical masks to countries around the world to help with the shortage of personal protective equipment that has occurred as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On April 3rd, 2020, Unilever announced a variety of measures to support global and national responses to the coronavirus pandemic. The company will donate soap, sanitizer, bleach, and food worth €100 million to the most vulnerable people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes frontline healthcare workers, children and seniors. Also, Unilever will provide €500 million of cash flow relief to support the livelihoods of suppliers and customers across its extended value chain.
  • On April 3rd, 2020, Colgate-Palmolive announced that it would support the World Health Organization's #SafeHands challenge by producing and donating 25 million soap bars. The soap will be specially packaged with proper handwashing instructions that amplify the message of the #SafeHands challenge and distributed in the regions facing acute needs.
  • On April 7th, 2020, Snapchat introduced new augmented reality donation lenses in 33 countries so that Snapchat users can donate towards the fight against COVID-19. Three lenses were launched to support the World Health Organization's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. These lenses direct Snapchat users to the fund's donation page.
  • On April 6th, 2020, Pfizer and The Pfizer Foundation announced the commitment of $40 million in medical supplies and cash donations to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. and around the world. In the US, emergency relief funds will be donated to government public health organizations in states with a heavy COVID-19 burden to support local COVID-19 health needs. Outside the US, funds have been donated to Pfrizer's established partners including Direct Relief, Project HOPE, and International Medical Corps.

Tech Industry Actions

  • On March 22nd, 2020, Cisco announced its commitment of $225 million in cash, in-kind, and planned-giving towards the global and local coronavirus responses. As part of this commitment, Cisco has allocated $8 million in cash and $210 million in products to the global coronavirus response. Cisco is also working in partnership with other Silicon Valley companies to provide support for a variety of organizations at the forefront of the coronavirus response.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Google announced that it would offer $340 million in Google Ads credits to small businesses that have an account with them. The $340 million is a portion of an $800 million package that Google has committed to supporting small and medium-sized businesses, health organizations and governments, and health workers at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • On March 31st, 2020, Facebook launched a global version of its Community Help feature. The new COVID-19 Community Help hub will provide Facebook users with a way to offer help, search for help and receive help in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. They will also be able to donate to non-profit fundraisers.
  • On April 7th, 2020, Square and Jack Dorsey, Twitter's CEO announced that his donation of $1 billion in Square equity to support relief efforts for the COVID-19 pandemic and other social causes after the pandemic is over.


COVID-19 RESPONSES ASIA

Relief Donations

  • On March 20th, 2020, ABS-CBN launched a campaign to help poor families in the Philippines that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. The media and entertainement group launched this initiative with a PHP 100 million donation.
  • On March 19th, 2020, Singapore's Keppel Corporation announced the rollout of a $3 million package to help members of the Singapore community negatively impacted by COVID-19.
  • On March 20th, 2020, the Red Sea International Film Festival Foundation announced a fund of SAR 200,000 in the form of emergency community relief grants to support Saudi filmmakers who have sustained a financial loss resulting from canceled or postponed gigs directly related to COVID-19.
  • On March 19th, 2020, Coca-Cola Philippines announced that it was redirecting its PHP 150 million advertisement budget to help meet the daily hydration needs of health workers and front-liners working during the coronavirus outbreak. Coca-Cola has also partnered with two foundations to provide health workers with personal protective equipment and will also give relief goods to the most vulnerable families and communities.
  • On March 24th, 2020, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that it had collected more than Rp 300 billion from its members to provide healthcare equipment and support for healthcare professionals. The donation has been channeled directly to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, the COVID-19 fast-response team, the Indonesian Red Cross, and the Health Ministry.
  • On March 28th, 2020, the Tata group and Tata Trusts announced a Rs 500 crore donation to fight the global coronavirus pandemic. The donation was made towards the provision of personal protective equipment, respiratory systems and other medical facilities, testing kits, and the training of healthcare workers.
  • On March 28th, 2020, the Board of Control for Cricket in India made a ₹51 crore donation to the PM-CARES Fund that was launched by the Prime Minister to support India’s fight against COVID-19.
  • On March 31st, 2020, the Piramal Group pledged to donate Rs 25 crore towards the PM CARES Fund to support the fight against COVID-19 in India.

Donations of Supplies, Products & Services

  • On March 25th, 2020, Parle G announced that it would donate three crore packs of biscuits (one crore is equal to 10 million rupees) through government agencies to needy people across India during the 21-day lockdown as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • On March 29th, 2020, the Hodo Group, a Chinese clothes manufacturer announced that it would donate 1 million face masks to Cambodia in support of its fight against COVID-19. The first batch of 200,000 face masks had already started shipping to Cambodia.
  • On April 6th, 2020, PepsiCo India along with PepsiCo Foundation, announced it would provide 25,000 COVID-19 testing kits and more than 5 million meals to support vulnerable families impacted by the coronavirus outbreak in India. For the distribution of cooked meals, PepsiCo has partnered with Akshaya Patra Foundation and for the distribution of dry food portions, it has partnered with Smile Foundation.
  • On April 7th, 2020, A consortium of Indonesian upstream oil and gas players announced it had distributed Rp 5.5 billion worth of food and medical aid to eleven oil and gas-producing provinces in Indonesia to support local communities during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Tech Industry Actions

  • On March 31st, 2020, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO announced that Apple had increased its contribution to China's efforts to fight COVID-19 to more than 50 million, with this Apple has more than doubled their original donation.


COVID-19 RESPONSES AFRICA

Relief Donations

  • On March 26th, 2020, United Bank for Africa announced a donation of more than 5 billion Naira through the UBA Foundation to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The donation will provide support to 20 African countries including Nigeria in the form of relief materials, critical care facilities, and financial aid to Governments. Also, the bank will fund a medical center with isolation and ICU facilities in Lagos and provide a physician-led telemedicine platform, which will provide free medical advice to people.
  • On March 26th, 2020, the BUA Group announced a 5 billion naira donation through the BUA Foundation to strengthen Nigeria’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Also, the company announced an additional donation of equipment and medical supplies including testing kits and personal protective equipment.
  • On March 27th, 2020, The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and 33 oil and gas companies donated $30 million to federal and state governments in Nigeria to fight the spread of the coronavirus. The donation will focus on three areas: the provision of medical supplies, the deployment of logistics and in-patient support system and the delivery of the required medical infrastructure.
  • On March 28th, 2020, the Motsepe Foundation in partnership with other associated companies, pledged R1 billion to fight the coronavirus in South Africa.
  • On March 30th, 2020, First Bank of Nigeria announced that it had donated 1 billion naira to support the fight against the coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria. This donation will go towards the provision of critical medical equipment and provide isolation centers, which are essential in the current fight against COVID-19.
  • On March 31st, 2020, Anthony Masima, a deputy commissioner of the Health Ministry in the Democratic Republic of Congo, announced that the U.S. government had provided $6 million in humanitarian funding to help the country to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On March 31st, 2020, Intels Nigeria announced the donation of two facilities to the Port Health Services of the Federal Ministry of Health for use as isolation centers for the isolation and treatment of people with COVID-19.
  • On March 31st, 2020, Union Bank announced an additional 300 million naira donation to the fund set up by a coalition of banks to raise 120 billion naira to tackle the spread of coronavirus in Nigeria. Also, the Bank made another 50 million naira donation to Lagos State's COVID-19 Emergency Food Response program set up to provide aid to the most vulnerable people within the state.
  • On April 1st, 2020, Multichoice Nigeria announced a variety of initiatives that add up to 1.2 billion naira to support governments’ efforts to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria. These initiatives include cash donations to the Federal and Lagos State governments, 10,000 certified test kits to the NCDC, and COVID-19 prevention tips in the main Nigerian languages. Additionally, the company will provide compensation to creative industry professionals whose productions have been disrupted as a result of COVID-19, with a committed sum of up to 400 million naira.
  • On April 4th, 2020, three independent oil and gas companies in Nigeria: Seplat Petroleum Development Company, First Hydrocarbon Nigeria, and ND Western donated critical medical equipment and supplies to the Delta State government to support its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On March 5th, 2020, Leadway Assurance Company announced that it is working with other insurance companies in Nigeria to provide life insurance cover up to 5 billion naira for all healthcare workers in the frontline of the fight against coronavirus. Also, the company stated that it had donated an additional 135 million naira in the form of personal protective equipment, COVID-19 test kits, and foodstuff.
  • On March 5th, 2020, Airtel Nigeria announced a commitment of 1.9 billion naira towards the fight against COVID-19 in Nigeria. This donation will be used to build medical facilities, provide medical supplies and to provide free SMS’s and data to access educational and health sites to its customers.

Donations of Supplies, Products & Services

  • On March 23rd, 2020, McDan group of companies donated 100 pieces of one-liter gallons of hand sanitizers to the Police Administration for use by police officers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • On March 26th, 2020, Huawei Technologies, announced a donation of medical supplies to support Zambia during the COVID-19 outbreak. The company donated intelligent temperature equipment for access control that automatically detect one's temperature when mounted at the entrance of a building.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Axa Mansard announced a donation of millions of personal protective equipment to support healthcare workers in the fight against the COVID-19 in Nigeria. Also, the insurance company will donate 100 million naira worth of life insurance cover for 100 medical professionals working in three Nigerian states.
  • On April 1st, 2020, Discovery and Vodacom teamed up to offer the South African public free, virtual consultations with doctors to help diagnose and treat people that are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. According to Adrian Gore, Discovery's CEO, "the main purpose is to get doctor consultations to every single South African for COVID-19."
  • On April 6th, 2020, Olam Nigeria announced that it has donated food and medical supplies to support the relief and response efforts of state and federal governments in the fight against COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Healthcare Worker Commitment

  • On March 22nd, 2020, the Telkom group pledged 15 million rand to South Africa’s primary health-care sector to support its response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The group said the donation was part of its multipronged approach to support South Africa’s efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

Worker Commitment

  • On April 4th, 2020, Jumia Group, an e-commerce platform in Africa, announced the launch of a fund to support its staff during the COVID-19 crisis. Also, Jumia’s co-CEOs are reducing their salaries by 25%. These actions are in addition to previous ones that Jumia has taken to support the fight against coronavirus pandemic including the donation of 500,000 face masks to healthcare workers in Africa.


COVID-19 RESPONSES NORTH AMERICA

Relief Donations

  • On March 18th, 2020, Amazon announced a $1 million donation that will be split among four Washington community foundations that are working to support vulnerable populations during the COVID-19 crisis. Additionally, Amazon is providing cash and other support to five food banks in the D.C. area.
  • Nike, the Nike Foundation, and Nike’s leaders announced that they are committing more than $15 million on March 18th, 2020, towards COVID-19 response efforts. Beneficiaries include the Oregon Food Bank, the Oregon Community Recovery Fund, and the Oregon Health & Science University.
  • On March 18th, 2020, Hormel Foods pledged $1 million to hunger relief and food insecurity causes in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 18th, 2020, BGE announced that it would join Exelon and Constellation to donate $175,000 to Maryland relief organizations including the United Way of Central Maryland, the Maryland Food Bank, and the Baltimore Community Foundation.
  • On March 18th, 2020, the Denver Broncos announced a $500,000 contribution to the Colorado COVID Relief Fund to help people affected by the outbreak. The Colorado COVID Relief Fund is hosted by the State of Colorado and Mile High United Way.
  • MassMutual donated $1 million toward a COVID-19 response fund that will provide resources to non-profit organizations in the Pioneer Valley that support those impacted by the spread of COVID-19. The establishment of the fund by the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts was announced on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020.
  • On March 18th, 2020, the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health announced an initial donation of $100,000 to the COVID-19 Response Fund for Idaho, a new charitable fund that provides support for low-income and vulnerable families affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 19th, 2020, Under Armour pledged $2 million towards people who are affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The company pledged $1 million to each of Feeding America and Good Sports.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Sysco Corporation announced that it will donate 2.5 million meals over the next month as part of its community response strategy to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be done in partnership with its key national partners: Feeding America in the U.S. and Second Harvest in Canada.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Netflix pledged $100 million in relief to the out-of-work production community. The money will go to workers involved in halted Netflix productions as well as other third party productions and non-profits that are providing emergency relief.
  • On March 20th, 2020, TELUS announced that TELUS Friendly Future Foundation has made a $10 million commitment to urgently support and enhance public healthcare capacity and the community response across Canada to the COVID-19 outbreak. This new funding will go toward new medical technology and equipment, increased support for food security, outreach to isolated seniors, virtual education programs, and mental health initiatives.
  • On March 21st, 2020, Rihanna’s non-profit organization, the Clara Lionel Foundation announced a donation of $5 million toward the COVID-19 response. The donation was made to benefit on-the-ground relief partners including Partners in Health and Feeding America.
  • On March 21st, 2020, the PSEG Foundation announced its decision to support the Community FoodBank of New Jersey with $45,000 to address intensifying food insecurity currently being experienced across New Jersey as a consequence of the COVID-19 outbreak. The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is the largest anti-hunger organization in New Jersey and it works with more than 1,000 community organizations and partners.
  • On March 21st, 2020, JEM Productions, a production company based in Wisconsin, announced that it would host a virtual COVID-19 relief concert to raise money and help local children and families who need meals while school is closed.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, Beam and Tito’s Vodka announced the donation of $1 million to charities providing support to bar and restaurant workers that are affected by the coronavirus pandemic.   • On April 3rd, 2020, Ahold Delhaize USA announced a $10 million donation towards different relief efforts related to the COVID-19 pandemic to support its workers, communities and medical research working to create a vaccine and cure for COVID-19.

  • On April 3rd, 2020, Young Living announced a donation of $233,767 to Meals on Wheels, which delivers healthy food to senior citizens. This donation represents 1% of all the company’s North American profits from the Thieves product line in March 2020.
  • On April 6th, 2020, First Quality Enterprises announced a $2 million donation toward organizations that are providing public assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the Red Cross and local food banks. First Quality donated products to support the Red Cross, also, out of the $2 million donation, $1.35 million will be used to support local hospitals while $650,000 will be given to local food banks.

  • On March 18th, 2020, Bayer announced its donation of 3 million chloroquine tablets to the U.S. government for potential use in coronavirus treatment since early studies showed that it is potentially clinically applicable for the treatment of COVID-19.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Hillrom announced that it would donate an additional $3 million in medical devices for use by critical and intensive care units to 25 U.S. hospitals fighting COVID-19. When combined with prior donations in Asia, Europe, and other philanthropic contributions, Hillrom has donated more than $5.5 million to assist caregivers and patients in the current pandemic.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Everlywell announced that it would start to offer at-home COVID-19 data collection kits and telehealth diagnosis to members of the public starting from Monday, March 23rd, 2020. The company plans to have testing and diagnosis capacity for 250,000 people weekly. People who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms can request for the test online then the testing kit would be shipped them with everything needed to collect the home sample, which would then be shipped to a certified lab.
  • On March 21st, 2020, Google launched its COVID-19 page and search portal, which has official statistics and other resources. At the moment, this is only available for the US with plans to expand this service to other regions soon.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, AST Sportswear announced that it had reconfigured its Brea plant so that it could start making face masks after seeing messages from healthcare professionals who desperately needed face masks. The masks are being donated and shipped for free to anyone that needs them. Shipments will go out across the U.S. but they are focused mainly on hospitals and medical facilities.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, 3M announced that it would supply 500,000 N95 respirator masks to New York and Seattle to address the current shortage of needed protective medical equipment. 3M is currently working at 100% production capacity but the company is currently investigating other manufacturing scenarios and exploring coalitions to increase further increase its capacity.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, Harbor Freight Tools announced the donation of its entire supply of personal protective equipment items to hospitals with 24-hour emergency rooms in the communities served by their stores. Hospitals in need were asked to send email requests to the company.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, Anheuser-Busch announced that it would use its supply and logistics network to begin the production and distribution of hand sanitizer across the United States in response to growing need as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, Labatt Breweries of Canada announced that it would shift its production capacity at some of its factories from beer to hand sanitizer in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Labatt will start with the production of 50,000 bottles of hand sanitizer that will be donated to Food Banks Canada, frontline health workers, and restaurants and bars.

  • On March 27th, 2020, Smithfield Foods announced a donation of more than $3 million in cash and in-kind, which includes 4 million servings of protein to support communities across America during the coronavirus outbreak. Also, Smithfield launched the Good Food Challenge to support Feeding America and its national network of food banks. The Good Food Challenge’s goal is to raise $1 million in additional donations, which would give the campaign the capacity to donate up to 10 million meals to Feeding America.

  • On April 2nd, 2020, GE Renewable Energy stated that its wind turbine factory in Pensacola, Florida, is using a 3D printer to make plastic shields that would protect disposable N95 masks.
  • On April 4th, 2020, Gilead Sciences announced the donation of 1.5 million doses of Remdesivir, its experimental anti-coronavirus drug, which could be used to treat 140,000 patients. According to Daniel O’Day, Gilead’s Chairman and CEO, “the drug will be offered for compassionate use, expanded access and clinical trials, and will treat patients with severe symptoms.”

  • On March 19th, 2020, Bank of America announced that it was providing additional support to consumers and small business clients who are experiencing hardship as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The bank is allowing customers to pause mortgage and credit card payments. The bank is also pausing foreclosure sales, evictions and repossessions and providing other non-mortgage-related options.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Wells Fargo announced the suspension of residential property foreclosure sales, evictions and involuntary auto repossessions to aid customers and communities impacted by COVID-19. Additionally, the Wells Fargo Foundation will increase its charitable donations to $175 million to help address challenges such as food, shelter, small business and housing stability, and to provide help to public health organizations.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Hulu announced the addition of a free, live news stream to its app for customers who only subscribe to its on-demand service. This is in response to the preponderance of fake news reports circulating during the outbreak, which has resulted in health organizations and political leaders urging Americans to get their news from trusted sources.

  • On March 25th, 2020, Airbus announced that an Airbus A400M airlifter had performed an air-bridge between Toulouse and Madrid to deliver masks that were urgently needed to Spain.   • On April 6th, 2020, Elton John launched a $1 million COVID-19 Emergency Fund to support non-profit organizations that are working with people living with HIV or AIDS in vulnerable communities around the world.
  • On April 7th, 2020, Fine Hygienic Holding announced the set up a $1 million relief fund to provide aid to communities that it serves in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • On April 7th, 2020, New Media Ventures announced the creation of a $1 to 2 million Crisis Innovation Fund in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund will back COVID-19 crisis innovations and fund companies that are helping communities to recover from the impact of the pandemic.
  • On April 7th, 2020, Barclays announced the establishment of the Barclays Foundation and launched a £100 million COVID-19 Community Aid Package. This fund will support charities that are helping vulnerable people impacted by COVID-19 to alleviate the associated social and economic hardships. The fund will be primarily distributed in the UK but also in Barclays’ international markets, including the USA and India.

  • On March 21st, 2020, the Cambridgeshire Coronavirus Community Fund was launched with the support of the Cambridge Independent. The fund will be run by the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation and provides a coordinated way to support people affected by the virus.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, the Cheshire Community Foundation announced the establishment of the Cheshire and Warrington COVID-19 Response Fund to support vulnerable people affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. The fund will prioritize funding to charitable projects across the UK that are supporting people negatively affected by the virus.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Polyus announced that it would set up a fund in partnership with the Far East Development Fund to support preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the Russian Far East region. The fund is expected to reach RUB 1 billion including donations from other parties.

  • On March 23rd, 2020, GEMA, the German performing rights society launched a $43 million emergency relief fund for its songwriter and composer members who are currently facing economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On March 24th, 2020, the British Film Institute and the Film and TV Charity jointly established the COVID-19 Film and TV Emergency Relief Fund to support freelancers and workers within the creative sector in the UK. Netflix kicked off this fund with a £1 million donation.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Help Musicians announced the setup of a £5 million Help Musicians Coronavirus Financial Hardship Fund to provide financial support to professional musicians in the UK that may be facing hardship as a result of the pandemic.
  • On March 27th, 2020, the British Fashion Council launched the BFC Foundation Covid Crisis Fund, which aims to provide financial support to creative fashion businesses and individuals in the UK that are currently experiencing hardship as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On April 6th, 2020, the Association Of Independent Music launched a £1 million relief fund to support contractors and freelancers in the UK's independent music community who have lost income as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On April 7th, 2020, ITV unveiled a £500,000 development fund to support independent productions and accelerate the search for new ideas and content for the channel once the pandemic is over.

  • On March 18th, 2020, the Frankie Lemmon Foundation announced the set up of the Triangle Restaurant Workers Relief Fund. This came one day after Gov. Roy Cooper of North Carolina ordered that all restaurants and bars close dine-in customers. Restaurant workers that have experienced wage disruption or lay-offs, as a result, can fill this form to apply for assistance.
  • On March 27th, 2020, the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association launched the NC Restaurant Workers Relief Fund to provide financial aid to restaurant and hotel workers currently affected by COVID-19 pandemic related closures. The fund will give $500 to qualified applicants to help meet their immediate expenses.
  • On March 31st, 2020, Guy Fieri partnered with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) to launch the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. The fund was established to support food and restaurant workers who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • On March 17th, 2020, the Recording Academy and its charitable foundation MusiCares announced a $2 million COVID-19 relief fund for music professionals. Music industry members can apply for maximum assistance of $1,000 through the MusiCares website after they have submitted an application, proof of event cancellations and bookings along with copies of their lease agreements or mortgage statements.
  • On March 21st, 2020, Manitoba Music launched a relief fund for local musicians in response to the financial concerns of those impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Manitoba Music Board of Directors donated $20,000 to kick start the emergency fund and they will be reaching out to government, foundations, and members of the general public for additional donations.
  • On March 24th, 2020, the New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) announced the creation of a Musicians' Relief Fund to directly benefit NHSO musicians that are experiencing financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • On April 1st, 2020, the Academy of Country Music announced the establishment of the ACM Lifting Lives COVID-19 Response Fund under its charitable arm, ACM Lifting Lives. The fund will support individuals in the country music community who are experiencing financial hardship because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On April 1st, 2020, American Documentary launched the COVID-19 Artist Emergency Fund to support independent documentarians who are negatively impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. The fund will provide artists with rapid response grants up to $500 to assist with their basic needs.
  • On April 2nd, 2020, the Directors Guild Foundation launched a COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to support members who are experiencing financial hardship as a result of the pandemic. The new fund will provide $1,000 financial relief grants to DGA members impacted by the industry’s current shutdown.
  • On April 2nd, 2020, the J. Paul Getty Trust set up a $10 million COVID-19 relief fund to support small and medium-sized arts organizations in Los Angeles County. This fund will provide organizations with amounts ranging from $25,000 to $200,000, which will be administered by the California Community Foundation.
  • On April 7th, 2020, Apple Music made a $50 million advance fund available to support independent labels and distributors with vital cash flow during the period of uncertainty caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic. Any independent labels and distributors who meet a minimum threshold of $10,000 in Apple Music earnings each quarter can qualify for one-off advance payments on future royalties out of the fund.

Medical

  • On March 17th, 2020, United Way of Acadiana set up a COVID-19 testing fund to assist people who are unable to afford the $50 testing fee implemented at the Cajundome screening facility.

Businesses

  • The San Jose Strong fund was set up on March 17th by the City of San Jose in partnership with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. This fund was set up to provide assistance to San Jose residents, small businesses and nonprofits that have been economically affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 19th, 2020, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock announced the creation of a $4 million relief fund for businesses impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. In addition to the relief fund, Hancock announced that the Denver Economic Development and Opportunity (DEDO) is setting up an emergency relief program to provide cash grants of up to $7,500 to small businesses that qualify.
  • On March 25th, 2020, the City of Rockford alongside Winnebago County announced the creation of the COVID-19 Small Business Emergency Loan Fund. This fund was set to provide aid to small businesses over the next 60-90 days, which is when funding is expected from the federal government.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Portland’s City Council voted to allocate $3 million to a COVID-19 fund that will support the city's response to COVID-19. Out of this, $1 million will be given to small businesses in the form of emergency relief grants, administered through the city’s economic development agency, Prosper Portland.
  • On April 4th, 2020, SheaMoisture announced the launch of a $1 million fund to support minority and black-owned small businesses that have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This fund was established under a larger initiative dubbed Community Commerce, which was created so that businesses can be used as an avenue to invest in and elevate communities locally and globally.

  • On March 19th, 2020, Philadelphia officials announced the launch of a COVID-19 fund, which will support organizations serving vulnerable communities throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
  • On March 20th, 2020, the River Region United Way announced a $200,000 Community COVID-19 United Relief Fund. The fund will support emergency response and recovery efforts in the River Region and Wiregrass.
  • On March 18th, 2020, Lake Area United Way announced the creation of the Lake Area COVID-19 Community Economic Relief Fund, which will gather financial aid to support workers facing economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • According to a news release, on March 18th, 2020, the Summit Foundation established a fund to help nonprofit organizations within its community address their emergency needs during the COVID-19 outbreak. Summit Foundation made an initial contribution of $100,000 towards this fund.
  • On March 18th, 2020, Louisville mayor, Greg Fischer announced the creation of One Louisville: COVID-19 Response Fund. According to the mayor, "funds will provide assistance to those who may need help with rent or utilities payments, childcare, transportation, food, pharmaceutical needs and other support as determined."
  • On March 18th, 2020, United Way of Central New Mexico and Albuquerque Community Foundation announced the creation of the Emergency Action Fund that will make grants to nonprofit organizations in the Greater Albuquerque Area struggling with lost and non-recoverable revenue expenses due to COVID-19.
  • On March 18th, 2020, the Central New York Community Foundation announced the establishment of the Central New York COVID-19 Community Support Fund to help local nonprofits and charities focused on safety net issues for people who have been economically hurt by the coronavirus outbreak.
  • On March 19th, 2020, the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation started up a $1.25 million emergency fund to support health and hunger relief organizations who are on the front lines of the coronavirus response.
  • On March 19th, 2020, the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin partnered with United Way of Marathon County to create the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. The fund was set up to bring essential resources and needed aid to organizations working with community members who are most impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.
  • On March 19th, 2020, the Central Minnesota Community Foundation established the Central Minnesota Response Fund. The Foundation will work with local agencies to identify the greatest needs of the community and distribute the funds to local nonprofits, governmental and faith-based organizations.

  • On March 20th, 2020, several philanthropist organizations partnered to create the NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund. This fund will provide $75 million in grants and loans to support New York City-based social services and cultural organizations that have been affected by the current coronavirus public health crisis.
  • On March 20th, 2020, the Eden Prairie Community Foundation created a COVID-19 Response Fund to support local non-profits organizationt that face obstacles in getting food and other basic services to Eden Prairie residents as a result of the pandemic.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Cumbria Community Foundation announced that it had set up the Cumbria COVID-19 Response Fund to provide aid to charitable groups that support vulnerable people across Cumbria County Council affected by COVID-19.
  • On March 20th, 2020, the Aera Energy Fund at Kern Community Foundation created the Kern County COVID-19 Relief Fund and committed $100,000 to it. The Relief Fund was created to support community needs in human services, health, housing and education and give grants to non-profits who provide support to residents and families in Kern County.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Officials from the United Way of Henderson County and the Community Foundation of Henderson County announced the establishment of the Henderson County COVID-19 Response Fund to rapidly deploy resources to the community-based organizations who are helping those impacted by the pandemic.
  • On March 20th, 2020, the Entergy Charitable Foundation established the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to help working families experiencing financial hardships as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to establishing the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, Entergy is taking additional steps to support and protect its customers during this crisis such as temporarily suspending customer disconnects.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, the Arkansas Community Foundation announced the creation of its COVID-19 Relief Fund. The Relief Fund will be used to direct resources to non-profit organizations within Arkansas that are serving its most vulnerable people and those extremely impacted by the coronavirus outbreak and its economic effect.
  • On March 21st, 2020, the Rowan County United Way and Salisbury Post launched a COVID-19 Relief Fund to help Rowan County residents whose lives are impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. The COVID-19 Relief Fund will accept donations from the public then direct those funds to organizations and non-profit working in Rowan County.
  • On March 21st, 2020, the Wisconsin Boys & Girls Clubs started a statewide COVID-19 Relief Fund to address needs directly related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 21st, 2020, Granite United Way announced the launch of a COVID-19 relief fund to provide assistance to people who are experiencing hardship during the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, the City of Peru approved the setup of a relief fund for city residents that have been negatively impacted by the economic downturn as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, a group of Chautauqua County funders announced the establishment of the Chautauqua County Crisis Response Fund: COVID-19. This fund will be managed in partnership with the local United Ways, community foundations and some private and corporate foundations.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, the Berkeley Relief Fund was launched and the live launch was hosted by Mayor Jesse Arreguín and Berkeley author Michael Lewis. The City of Berkeley will donate $3 million towards the funds and additional funds will be raised from the public and corporate donors.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, The Children’s Foundation announced the establishment of a COVID-19 emergency response fund that would provide almost a dozen key safety net organizations working on the COVID-19 response with additional grant awards of up to $10,000 each. The Foundation plans to award up to $250,000 from this fund.
  • On March 22nd, 2020, Quiet Givers announced the establishment of a COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to help support people who are currently experiencing hardship because they are out of work as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

  • On March 22nd, 2020, the Harvest Foundation partnered with the United Way and Smart Beginnings Martinsville Henry to provide a $150,000 Emergency Childcare Relief Fund so that priority healthcare and first responders can meet short-term childcare needs within the community.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, the Salina Area United Way announced the setup of the SAUW COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to provide assistance as offering the Coronavirus continues to spread across the US and Kansas.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Kearney Area Community Foundation announced the launch of the Kearney Area Employee Emergency Relief Fund. The fund was set up for Kearney employees that have experienced hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, Santa Clara County and San Jose City officials launched an $11 million relief fund to help residents experiencing financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Companies and non-profit organizations that have contributed to the fund include Cisco, Destination: Home, Adobe, Zoom, Facebook and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, the British Colombia government announced that it would provide $5 billion in relief for residents and businesses impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. The financial relief fund provides $2.8 billion for British Colombia residents and $2.2 billion for businesses.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, Sacramento launched a COVID-19 relief fund tagged the Donate4Sacramento COVID-19 Regional Response Fund. The fund will provide support to families in need, small businesses, the homeless, and non-profit organizations.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, the Green Bay Packers announced it would donate COVID-19 Community Relief Funds amounting to $1.5 million, through Packers Give Back to assist relief efforts in Brown County and the Milwaukee area.

  • On March 23rd, 2020, the St. Louis County Board of Commissioners authorized the creation of a COVID-19 fund totaling $1 million. The money would be used for the emergency purchase of personal protective equipment and other safety gear.
  • On March 23rd, 2020, the Trail Blazers Foundation and the Portland Trail Blazers organization announced the creation of the COVID-19 Relief Fund to support local non-profit organizations impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Additionally, it established a virtual resource center so that community members can access helpful resources.
  • On March 24th, 2020, a group of charitable, business and government partners jointly created the Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund to address the needs of the region's most vulnerable communities impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, the Hall Family Foundation and Sunderland Foundation partnered on a challenge grant to match donations to the fund up to $5 million.
  • On March 24th, 2020, the Wayne County Community Foundation, in partnership with other local private foundations, established and provided the initial funding for the Wayne County Emergency Response Fund. This fund will provide support to non-profit organizations in Wayne County that are working on the front line of COVID-19 response efforts.
  • On March 24th, 2020, a Community Recovery Fund was created with more than $250,000 to support those affected by COVID-19 through Calhoun County-based non-profit organizations according to an announcement by the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama.
  • On March 24th, 2020, the Marin County Board of Supervisors established a $1 million COVID-19 Relief Fund in partnership with Marin Community Foundation to assist vulnerable populations within the county. Additionally, the Board also enacted a ban on tenant evictions in Marin County.
  • On March 25th, 2020, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 announced that it would establish a $1 million emergency hardship fund for its members who are currently working hard to meet the food and healthcare needs of its community. This includes workers in grocery stores and food processing facilities, along with the healthcare workers at Kaiser Permanente.
  • On March 24th, 2020, Lift for the 22 and the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce partnered to launch a relief fund to support Wisconsin’s veteran service organizations. All donations received will go to non-profit organizations providing housing, health and wellness, and financial aid services to veterans, service members and their families in Wisconsin.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Palo Alto Community Fund announced the launch of a new COVID-19 Relief Fund to support vulnerable families living in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and Menlo Park during the coronavirus pandemic. The fund will be divided into grants for local non-profit organizations, including LifeMoves and Ravenswood Education Foundation.
  • On March 25th, 2020, the Community Foundation of Washington County announced the establishment of a COVID-19 Community Relief Fund to meet the immediate and long-term needs of Washington County residents.
  • On March 25th, 2020, United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona announced the establishment of the United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 Fund to support those experiencing hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The fund will be administered in partnership with United Way’s non-profit partners, local foundations, businesses, media, and educational organizations.
  • On March 25th, 2020, the Council of Fashion Designers of America announced that the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, which was originally launched in the aftermath of 9/11 had been redeployed into a new Covid-19 relief fund called ‘A Common Thread.’ A Common Thread will raise and distribute funds to people who have been most affected by the pandemic.
  • On March 26th, 2020, the Freelancers Union launched the Freelancers Relief Fund, which will directly support independent workers that are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund will provide financial assistance of up to $1,000 per freelance household affected by COVID-19 as a result of illness, lost work, or unexpected caregiving duties.
  • On March 26th, 2020, the town of Breckenridge announced it would provide $1.5 million in COVID-19 relief to support people and small businesses in Breckenridge affected by the outbreak. The money will be used to provide rental aid to people and small businesses who are currently experiencing hardship as a result of the pandemic.
  • On March 26th, 2020, the Princeton Area Community Foundation, in partnership with other community leaders, created a COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Fund to support the mid and long-term needs of low-income children, families, and seniors within the region.
  • On March 26th, 2020, United Way of the Brazos Valley in collaboration with other local non-profit organizations announced the launch of the Brazos Valley COVID-19 Community Relief Fund to support the community during the coronavirus pandemic. Funds raised will be used to provide food, rent and utility relief to residents and small businesses in Brazos Valley.
  • On March 26th, 2020, Governor Pritzker of Illinois announced the creation of the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund to support non-profit organizations and other bodies that support the most vulnerable children and families within the state to provide emergency food, basic supplies, interim housing, health care services, and financial support. Following the funds' establishment, numerous companies, organizations, and individuals have announced contributions including McDonald’s, Exelon Foundation, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Buncombe County the City of Asheville, the Town of Montreat, in partnership with other organizations launched the One Buncombe Fund to address the basic needs individuals and families affected by the COVID-19 crisis and provide bridge funding for small businesses.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Medworks, a Northeast Ohio non-profit organization launched a COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist families in need, as well as frontline healthcare workers and local restaurants. In addition to the relief fund, Medworks is supporting the community in different ways including loaning their two medical field hospital tents to partner hospitals and the donation of medical supplies such as masks and gloves to several healthcare facilities in the area.

  • On March 31st, 2020, the Southern Illinois Community Foundation authorized the launch of the Southern Illinois COVID-19 Relief Fund. Funds will be distributed to the Foundation's existing network of community-based organizations throughout the 17 southernmost counties of Illinois.

The fund will be used to address emergency needs such as rent/mortgage assistance, food, medication, and utilities.
  • On April 4th, 2020, Freebitco announced the launch of a relief fund to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Proceeds will be donated to Direct Relief, an organization that is synchronizing with public health authorities, non-profit organizations and businesses in the U.S. to provide healthcare workers with personal protective equipment and other critical items.
  • On April 4th, 2020, United Way Oxford launched a COVID-19 Community Response Fund to support the most vulnerable people within the community. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the fund will be focused on meeting basic needs, building capacity for community services and more.
  • On April 6th, 2020, Arkansas Community Foundation in partnership with Governor Asa Hutchinson, announced that it had established a COVID-19 Relief Fund to support non-profit organizations that are on the frontline of the coronavirus outbreak and serving the most vulnerable people.
  • On April 6th, 2020, Massachusetts launched the Massachusetts COVID-19 Relief Fund to provide statewide support to vulnerable communities affected by the coronavirus pandemic and frontline workers. According to government officials, the fund will benefit the homeless community, healthcare professionals, low-income families, people with disabilities and immigrant communities.
  • On April 6th, 2020, Action Together launched a COVID-19 Community Response Fund for organizations in the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector who are working on community responses to the coronavirus pandemic in Tameside, Glossop, Oldham, and Rochdale.
  • On April 6th, 2020, PAN Foundation launched a COVID-19 Treatment and Prevention Fund to assist Americans with existing medical conditions who have COVID-19 or are quarantined because of the virus. Beneficiaries can use the funds to co-pay for their treatments, prescription, and medications, medical supplies, or to pay for transportation to medical appointments and necessities such as groceries and meals.

  • On March 19th, 2020, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announced the establishment of the Carolina Student Impact Fund to provide emergency support for students who are unable to cope with unexpected financial burdens resulting from the coronavirus outbreak.
  • On March 19th, 2020, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation announced the creation of a COVID-19 Blugold Emergency Relief Fund to help students and programs that have been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.
  • On March 20th, 2020, Cincinnati Bell announced the creation of the Cincinnati Bell COVID-19 School Support Fund. The fund will help ensure that public school students in Cincinnati and their families have access to healthy meals, educational materials, and hygiene kits while schools are closed as a result of the pandemic.
  • On March 25th, 2020, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, announced the launch of a student emergency fund to provide financial aid to students that are experiencing hardship during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Diego Mesa College Foundation launched the Mesa College Student COVID-19 Emergency Fund to support its students during the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 26th, 2020, Florida State University officials launched an emergency fundraising effort to support students experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Florida State University Foundation established two emergency relief funds that are currently accepting donations: one supporting students affiliated with the Tallahassee campus and the other for students in the Panama City campus.
  • On March 27th, 2020, Texas A&M University announced that the Texas A&M University Disaster Relief Fund, which was first created to assist students in the wake of the destruction of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria would now be used to support students experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On March 28th, 2020, Missouri S&T launched the Miner Resilience Fund to support students during the COVID-19 crisis. This fund will be used to give financial assistance to students, expand online counseling and wellness programs and provide technological support to students in remote areas that have problems with internet access.
  • On March 31st, 2020, the University of Manitoba announced the setup of the COVID-19 UM Student Emergency Fund, which will offer financial aid to undergraduate and graduate students that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 30th, 2020, Lindenwood University created a Lions’ Relief Fund to support students who are experiencing hardship as a result of the challenges imposed by the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • On March 31st, 2020, the Northern Essex Community College announced the creation of the NECC Student Emergency Fund for students who are experiencing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The fund will help vulnerable students to stay in college. It will cover the cost of a laptop and/or internet access, which are required for online learning, tuition assistance and stipends, and any other needs that might arise related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthcare & Frontline Workers

  • On April 1st, 2020, Amalgamated Bank announced the launch of the Frontline Workers Fund to provide financial aid to frontline workers of the COVID-19 pandemic. Frontline workers include healthcare workers, grocery workers, cleaning service workers, and food service workers.
  • On April 4th, 2020, MercyOne Foundations in Cedar Falls, Oelwein and Waterloo set up a COVID-19 Response Fund to support health care workers who are at the frontline of the fight against COVID-19. The funds will be allocated towards the purchase of medical equipment and supplies, patient and worker financial aid and supporting the financial operations of selected medical centers.

  • On March 21st, 2020, Creative New Zealand announced the creation of a multi-million-dollar emergency response fund to support artists, groups and organizations impacted by COVID-19. According to Creative New Zealand’s chairperson, Michael Moynahan, “the arts bring people together and that must be protected.”

  • On March 23rd, 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa announced the establishment of the Solidarity Fund to combat and track the spread of coronavirus, provide treatment and support those who are experiencing hardship or disruption as a result of the pandemic.
  • On March 26th, 2020, the Botswana government announced the establishment of a COVID-19 relief fund that would assist Botswana in preparations to fight the global pandemic even though the country has not yet confirmed a positive case.

Medical

  • On March 26th, 2020, 54gene announced the launch of a $500,000 COVID-19 Testing Fund to boost coronavirus testing capacity in Nigeria. This fund will be used to support the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in light of the current challenges around testing for COVID-19 in Nigeria.
  • On April 6th, 2020, Nigeria and the United Nations system in Nigeria launched the COVID-19 Basket Fund. This fund will be used for the purchase of medical equipment and supplies, provide financial aid to vulnerable people and scale up testing, surveillance, community engagement and the clinical management of patients.

Communities

  • On March 31st, 2020, All On, an off-grid energy impact investing company, announced the launch of a 180 million naira COVID-19 Solar Relief Fund to power emergency health care in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

Healthcare Workers

  • On April 5th, 2020, Sterling Bank launched a 1 billion naira Health Workers' Fund to support healthcare workers who are at the frontline of the fight against COVID-19 in Nigeria.

  • On March 24th, 2020, the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development launched a fund to support Muslim communities that are affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.
  • On March 25th, 2020, Urban Company in partnership with Srinidhi Foundation to launch a relief fund to support gig workers and independent contractors in India during the COVID-19 crisis.
  • On March 27th, 2020, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced that it had set aside ₹50 crore from its reserves for a COVID-19 relief fund to support industry workers and people in India affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The fund will also support several initiatives being carried out by state governments during the current crisis.
  • On March 27th, 2020, The Godrej Group announced the setup of an INR 50 crore fund for community support and relief initiatives in India in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The fund will also support some ongoing COVID-19 initiatives focused on public health and essential supplies.
  • On March 29th, 2020, Ola, a ride-hailing platform, under the Ola Foundation announced the launch of the Drive the Driver Fund. Proceeds of the fund will support drivers and their families who have been affected by the restrictions due to the COVID- 19 pandemic.
  • On April 3rd, 2020, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank announced its plans to launch a $5 billion crisis recovery fund for health infrastructure, emergency plans, or industries hit by the pandemic to stimulate a quick turnaround after the coronavirus pandemic.
  • On April 6th, 2020, the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon announced that the United Nations will launch a fund appeal to strengthen's Lebanon response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This fund will be used to support Lebanon's health ministry, strengthen interaction among different communities, support good hygiene practices and provide basic needs to the most vulnerable populations.

  • On March 26th, 2020, Chief Minister Yediyurappa of Karnataka in South-Western India established a new fund tagged the 'Chief Minister Relief Fund COVID-19' to support vulnerable people in the state during the pandemic and provide better healthcare.
  • On March 28th, 2020, the state of Terengganu launched a State COVID-19 Aid Fund for the public to contribute towards helping people within the Malaysian state that are adversely impacted by the spread of the coronavirus.
  • On March 28th, 2020, Prime Minister Modi launched an emergency relief and assistance fund tagged the PM-CARES Fund to fight the spread COVID-19 in India.
