Instagram Analysis - Quay and Ray Ban

QUAY photo got reposted on Instagram by @katy who has 1.4 million followers, and @quayaustralia gained 114 followers.
Ray Ban lost an average of 187 followers daily.
Maroua, @thedollbeauty, has 1.4 million followers on Instagram.

After conducting an in-depth search on the Instagram engagements of Quay and Ray-Ban, we established that Quay's use of influencers, such as Desi Perkins, who has 3.8 million followers on Instagram, has helped them to gain positive engagements. Ray-Ban only made three posts in February, none of which got reposted by an influencer. The video Ray-Ban posted on February 27th was viewed 39,778 times.

We began our research by looking for Ray-Ban’s Instagram posts. We searched for its Instagram handle @rayban and found some posts made in February. While the only influencer that was featured in Ray-Ban was from 1st February, the celebrity, Gianni Lee, didn't repost his photo. 

We extended our search and looked at the effect of the Gianni Lee photo that was posted on 1st February on Instagram. We used Instagram analytics tools that were available such as IGblade, but the data shown were from 4th February until today. Then we looked at other sources including Social Blade but the data provided was limited from February 16, 2019

We went further and searched the internet archives on way back machine, to affirm if the site has the archived Instagram page of Ray-Ban 1st February, but the last archive was from 2018. We used the Instagram tools that provide Instagram’s follower count. However, the data is hidden behind a paywall. We couldn't find the post from Ray-Ban that was reposted by influencer because this company only made 3 posts featuring only one artist, and the artist didn't repost his photo from Ray-Ban.

Lustrelux @katy has 2 million followers. Katy reposted a post made on February 3, 2019. The original photo was of a campaign advertisement for QUAY and DESI. The campaign got 11,479 likes on @quayaustralia Instagram page. Quay Australia gained 114 followers from 3 February to 4 February. 

POST: DESI PERKINS — VIDEO
Desi Perkins, @desiperkins, has 3.8million followers. Desi reposted a post made on the same Instagram page on February 21, 2019. The original video was of a campaign advertisement for High Key Mini Blue Light sunglasses. The video was viewed 35,912 times. According to the IG follower record, on 21 February, Quay Australia gain 120 followers.

Desi reposted a post made on February 21, 2019. The original photo was of a campaign advertisement for High Key Blue Light sunglasses for Quay and Desi. The post got 6,357 likes. According to the IG follower record, on 21 February, Quay Australia gain 120 followers. 

POST: MAROUA — PHOTO 
Maroua, @thedollbeauty, has 1.4 million followers. Maroua reposted a post made on February 28, 2019. The original photo was of a campaign advertisement for Wild Night gold/peach, with 4,283 likes. According to the IG follower record, on 28 February, Quay Australia gain 735 followers. 

POST: DANIELLEMETZ — PHOTO 
Maroua, @daniellemetz, has 145k followers on Instagram. Elle reposted a post made on February 28, 2019. The original photo was of a campaign advertisement for QUAY and ELLE with FARRAH in gold/green, which had 10,532 likes. According to the IG follower record, on 28 February, Quay Australia gain 735 followers. 

RAY-BAN

                                      

Ray-Ban only made three posts in February, none of which got reposted by an influencer. The Instagram analytic tools reported that Ray-Ban lost an average of 187 followers daily. On February 1, 2019, Ray-Ban made a post featuring an Instagram influencer, visual artist Gianni Lee, wearing a pair of Ray-Bans. The celebrity photo post got 13,500 likes.

On February 25th, Ray-Ban posted a video as part of the campaign entitled "Life Through Your Eyes." The video was viewed 52,003 times. Ray-Ban lost 41 followers when the video was posted. Ray-Ban lost hundreds of its follower daily during the month of February except on February 22nd, February 7th, and February 16th.

On February 27th, Ray-Ban posted a second video, also in the "Life Through Your Eyes" campaign, along with the tag-line "Everything your eyesight needs, all in one place and built for you." The video was viewed 39,778 times. Ray-Ban lost 100 followers on February 27th when the video was posted. Ray-Ban lost an average of 187 followers daily during the month of February, except on February 22nd, February 7th, and February 16th.
