SaaS companies: digital marketing messaging

INSIGHTS

  • AWS, Salesforce, and Slack all have pages on their websites specifically targeting the retail industry.

OVERVIEW

Image result for SaaS companies: digital marketing messaging

As requested, I've provided screenshots for G Suite, Slack, Salesforce, and AWS showing any pages from their websites relevant to the retail, construction, and
airlines industries, particularly related to how they market their products and to their pricing. You'll find all of the screenshots in the attached Google Doc. You'll also find some insights from my methodology and research below.

AMAZON WEB SERVICES
Product-specific pages for construction and airlines are not available from AWS. You can see AWS's full list of industries on this page, which are: retail, utilities, automotive, manufacturing, government, nonprofit, education, enterprise, gaming, healthcare, marketing, financial services, and media. Moreover, Amazon Web Services pricing is not industry specific; it's consolidated on one page, which you can see on pages four and five of the Google Doc.

AWS does have a page highlighting how their offerings are tailored to the retail industry. On this page, Amazon mentions customer satisfaction in the subtitle of the page, and mentions multi-channel retail in the first sentence of the description, both key priorities in the retail industry. The page goes on to highlight how AWS benefits retail business:

1. Invest in what matters, i.e. innovation instead of infrastructure
2. Scale quickly and efficiently
3. Be agile and insightful
4. Global scale

The page also features case studies and customer testimonials from retail businesses such as Lululemon.

Although AWS does not have a similar webpage for the construction industry, I did include screenshots from a case study for Assignar, a company that serves the construction industry. The study does not provide many insights into how AWS markets itself to this industry, however. Similarly, AWS does not have a page for the airlines industry, but I included a case study for GOL Airlines. The case focuses on how the airline used AWS for its in-flight entertainment system, so most of the content was not applicable to the airline industry in general.

SLACK
Slack does not differentiate in how it markets its product to various industries. I did find one case study for the retail industry on Slack's website, but I could not find any internal pages specific to other industries, so there are no grounds for comparison in terms of how the company markets to different industries.

SALESFORCE
Salesforce has a page dedicated to how its products can serve the retail industry. In the page subtitle, Salesforce immediately mentions the customer experience, and goes on to list clearly the special features and benefits of Salesforce for retail:

1. Intelligent advertising
2. 1-to-1 Journeys
3. Unified commerce
4. Any channel service

Similarly, Salesforce has a page dedicated to the travel and transportation industry very broadly, although it is not specific to airlines. The page does feature imagery of airplanes, and uses travel language with words like "embark". It discusses how the platform can be used for innovation and disruption in the industry.

However, Salesforce does not have a comparable page for construction, so there is little grounds for comparison in terms of how the company markets to different industries. I did learn from GetApp that Salesforce Sales Cloud CRM is an app used by the construction industry, so I've included screenshots for that product. However, the page does not include any insights specific to the construction industry.

G SUITE
G Suite does have a page on which they discuss the benefits on their product for the retail industry. Similar to the other websites, it mentions customer satisfaction almost immediately on the page. It then goes on to discuss how each of the elements on G Suite can be used to benefit the retail industry. Unfortunately, G Suite does not have similar pages for the construction or airline industries, so there are no grounds for comparison. I did include G Suite case studies for each of these industries, but they offer little insight in terms of how G Suite markets their products to these industries.

CONCLUSION
To wrap up, I've provided screenshots for G Suite, Slack, Salesforce, and AWS showing any pages from their websites relevant to the retail, construction, and airlines industries, particularly related to how they market their products and to their pricing. You'll find all of the screenshots in the attached Google Doc.
