While we could not find the US market size for browser based games, we were able to find the browser-based social/casual gaming market size in the US. The methodology used for the research and the findings are presented below.

We broadened the research criteria by searching for the global market size/revenue for browser based games. We also searched for the US market size for games as well as the global market size for games. We hoped to find reports with a wider coverage where market size figures were broken down into regions and by segments. We found several reports by Newzoo, Venture Beat, TweakTown, Games Industry, and WePC with the global market size for games. The Newzoo report also provided the US market size for games as well the global revenue for browser PC games. Also, the Venture Beat report presented the US market size for games and the browser-based US revenue for the social/casual gaming segment. None of the reports provided the total US market size for browser based games.

We proceeded to conduct a deeper search into mobile games market size and browser PC games to find the breakdown by region. Obtaining the breakdown for mobile devices which include phones and tablets browser and the breakdown for browser PC games in the US would give us the total US market size for browser based games. We found reports by Mediakix, Grandview Research, and Pocket Gamer with the global market size for mobile games but we couldn’t find any US breakdown by segments to be able to triangulate the required data. 

In the course of our search, we came across several paywalled reports. It is possible that the total US market size for browser based games could be found in these reports. They include reports from Newzoo and PwC.

According to a 2015 PwC report, the market size of the browser-based market for the social/casual gaming segment in the US was projected to be valued at $406 million in 2019 with a CAGR of -1.906% between 2014 and 2019.

The market size of the global browser PC games market was $4.3 billion in 2018.
The US market size for games was $30.4 billion in 2018.
The total PC gaming market is projected to grow at a CAGR of +1.8% between 2017 and 2021. This is due to the continued change to mobile games from browser PC which decreased consumer spend from the browser segment by half from 2017 to 2021.

The market size of the global browser-based PC games was $4.5 billion in 2017, a decline of 9.3% year-over-year. This was 15.3% of the PC games total market size of $29.4 billion.
