Little information on Scott French was publicly available. His current role at Lear Corporation is Vice President (of) Global Structures, and we could not find any information to conclude that he has changed jobs or been promoted to Global Vice President of Operations. Below you will find a deep dive into our methodology and what findings we were able to unearth about Mr. French.

CURRENT JOB ROLE
According to Mr. French's LinkedIn page, his actual job title is Vice President Global Structures at Lear Corporation. We then turned to a broad search to check whether it was possible that his LinkedIn page was outdated. We searched PRNewsWire for various Lear Corporation press releases, the official Lear Corporation news webpage and an X-ray search of the Lear Corporation domain for information about Scott French. None of these results indicated that Mr. French has been promoted to GVP of Operations in the last few years. Across the entire Lear Corporation website, Mr. French is only mentioned twice, in 2006 and 2009, which are both from his days as Vice President (of) Global Metals. Therefore, we were forced to conclude that Scott French is still in the job role of Vice President (of) Global Structures at Lear Corporation.
PRIOR ROLES
Mr. French's work history was only available on his LinkedIn page. According to this, he has been Vice President Global Structures since December 2013 (or, five years and three months). Prior to that, he was Vice President / Chief Operating Officer Asia Pacific from December 2011–December 2013. Then, from October 2005–December 2011, he was Vice President Global Metals. Between June 2003–October 2005, Mr. French was Lear Corporation's Vice President of European Interiors. Finally, his oldest known position was Managing Director UK Operations, between August 2000–June 2003. No work history prior to Lear Corporation was available.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Again, there was very little information about Mr. French's work at Lear Corporation available publicly. His LinkedIn states his role as VP of Global Structures means he "is responsible for Lear's $2.1 billion structures business, operations and strategy worldwide," but no further information was available.

We found a short profile of Mr. French from 2008, discussing a major accomplishment from when he was working as Lear Corporation's VP of European Interiors. He was sent in 2004 to turnaround that division, which had been losing $38 million with 10,000 quality problems per million. Within 18 months, Mr. French turned around European Interiors to post a net income of $3 million and reduce quality problems to a mere 19 per million. While the article does not state what he was able to accomplish as VP of Global Metals, it does state "growing [the] business unit" as his current goal. For this, he was profiled in Crain's Detroit Business 40 and 40 and given the Pacesetter Award from his alma matter, Ferris State University.
PRIORITIES (PROFESSIONALLY)
While there is nothing more recent than the 2008 article in Crain's Detroit Business, given his accomplishments then and the statements on his LinkedIn page, we have to infer that his general professional priorities are to grow revenue while improving quality. Furthermore, we found an associate, possibly a subordinate, named Kevin Hogan, who is Vice President (of) Structures Operations; he states his responsibility in that role is the profit & loss of several structures manufacturing facilities. This supports our theory that revenue is a chief priority for Mr. French.
NOTABLE PUBLIC SPEAKING/INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENTS/SOCIAL MEDIA ACTIVITY/RELEVANT PUBLICATIONS:
Again, after an extensive search, we found very little information on Scott French's public speaking, industry engagements, social media or publications. We were able to find that a Scott French has liked one of Lear Corporations's tweets. However, that profile only has two random retweets from 2017, so we concluded it was not being used professionally. That username led to us to find an Instagram page with the same photo, so we inferred that it is the same Scott French. Unfortunately, the account is private, so we concluded that it is only for personal use. There were no results matching Scott French on Facebook, so it is possible he is either inactive on that platform or has also set that account to private.
KEY AREAS OF FOCUS & EXPERTISE AND INITIATIVES HE IS LEADING
As discussed above, there is no information about Scott French's current activities at Lear Corporation available. He is not mentioned in their latest annual report, nor anywhere on their website in his current job role. A broad search revealed no articles, interviews or other information on his key areas of focus or any initiatives he is leading at Lear Corporation. We also expanded our search outside of any connections with Lear Corporation, using both his location (Detroit) and approximate age (42-43) to track down the correct Scott French. That search did not yield any further results. We then used Mr. French's job title to search for articles or information more generally about the structures division at Lear Corporation. This led to a press release that Lear Corporation recently expanded one of its structures plants in Portugal. While Mr. French is not mentioned, we can assume that he helped lead this expansion as head of the division. This was the only mention of Lear Corporation's Structures activity in the last two years.

Given the above, we explored every possible source of information about Scott French and Lear Corporation. What little information exists in the public domain is presented, with the caveat that it is indeed quite limited and often outdated. It may be that there is additional information about other executives with Lear Corporation or possibly a more general outline of Lear Corporation's direction and initiatives overall over the past several years may yield further results.
