OVERVIEW

Mintel does not cover farming/agriculture, heavy machinery, or manufacturing. While Mintel used to cover healthcare as recently as 2016, it does not appear to include it as one of its sectors any longer. eMarketer does not cover commercial real estate, construction, consulting services,
farming/agriculture, or heavy machinery. Nielsen does not cover commercial real estate, construction, consulting services, farming/agriculture, or heavy machinery. Nielsen has not covered toys since 2009 or home building since 2014. Gartner does not cover casinos or gambling. In addition, although Gartner has covered video games in the past (2013), it does not appear to have published any recent reports on this industry. Please see our methodology and a summary of our findings below.
METHODOLOGY
To determine which topics Mintel, eMarketer, Nielsen, and Gartner do not cover, we used a variety of search strategies. Mintel includes a list of sectors for which it provides research reports on its website. These sectors are
Advertising & Media
Automotive
Banking
Beauty
Credit cards
Drink
Financial services
Food
Foodservice
Health & Wellness
Homecare
Insurance
Investments
Mortgage & Loan
Packaging
Personal care
Retail
Sport & Entertainment
Telecommunications
Travel, Tourism & Leisure

While this list provided us with a basic list of topics covered by Mintel, it did not address more granular topics like fashion, computers, technology, construction, and others. Therefore, we performed a site search individually for all requested topics. This allowed us to use the process of elimination to determine the topics for which there are no Mintel reports or studies.

eMarketer does not provide a list of covered sectors on its website. Therefore, we used the search function on the website to search individually for all requested topics. As with Mintel, we used the process of elimination to determine the topics for which there are no eMarketer reports or studies.

For Nielsen and Gartner, a general press search was conducted to find topics that are covered (or not covered) by Gartner (and Gartner L2) and Nielsen (and Nielsen Sports). This strategy allowed us once again to use the process of elimination to determine the topics for which there are no Nielsen or Gartner reports.

A sample research report or study has been included for every topic we determined has been covered within the past two years by the Mintel, eMarketer, Nielsen, and Gartner. We have organized the topics in alphabetical order and indicated "yes" if the topic is covered with a link to the sample study and indicated "no" if the topic is not covered.
